The more I learn about humans, the more I love my cat.

I hate that we have to have this conversation every four years. What I hate even more is that humans continue to be stuck in a rut. Humanity, as a whole, refuses to learn from history.

Our presidential election system is rigged. Since the election of Franklin Pierce, in 1853, our president has been a Democrat or a Republican. For 171 years, no other party has been in power. It's not as if there aren't other parties. Contrary to popular belief and rhetoric, the voters do not elect the president. The electoral college does. The college is supposed to vote in accordance to the popular vote in their state. They've gone against that multiple times.

The electoral college outlived their usefulness decades ago. We've had the technology to count votes and turn the presidential election into a truly democratic process. We need to disband the electoral college and politicians will always fight that.

There are those that say that if we don't vote our conscience, things will never change. They're right and wrong. Voting for someone other than a Democrat or a Republican will accomplish nothing but removing votes needed to keep a candidate out of office. As long as the electoral college exists, this will always be true. I didn't vote for Biden or Clinton because I believed in them. I voted for them to try to keep Trump out of office.

Until we can end the electoral college, no other candidates are valid. You have to vote Democrat or Republican. Complaining about it or denying the facts won't change anything. Do what you have to and work towards making your politicians end the electoral college.

Learn something for once. We've repeated history for far too long.
