Two years later. . .you thought I forgot about this, didn't you?

Top Ten Underrated Asian Dramas!

In order to come up with the list, I looked at several factors: the ratings in their original country, how often they are rec'ed to people in forums and on journals, and how many people were talking about them on journals, forums, etc as they aired. Number Ten was the Japanese ensemble drama Love Shuffle. Number Nine was the Korean drama Happy Together. Number eight was the Chinese drama Young Warriors of the Yang Clan.

Number Seven is the 2007 Japanese drama Yukan Club

Writer: Egashira Michiru (Gokusen series and film, Tumbling, Misaki Number One!!. The series is loosely based on the manga of the same name by Ichijo Yukari.

Director: Otani Taro (Zeni Geba, the Gokusen series)

Why It’s Underrated: The show started out well, with ratings at 15%, but the ratings dropped as the series went on. I also found the fan threads/journals for the series were used less and less as the series went on. Maybe viewers thought they would have an overall series mystery to solve. Or maybe they were disappointed in the lack of romance. Or maybe the fact that the show was episodic bothered them? All these reasons were most likely reasons the show ended with a viewer average of 12.63%.

Why You Should Watch It: The series is fast and breezy with some underlying seriousness. The cast has lovely chemistry and are all great to look at.(all the main males are Johnny's, if that helps). There are a lot of laughs here. And, if you aren't 'shipping these characters by the end, there is something wrong with you. There is no romance in the series, but - the chemistry!

Favorite Scenes: SPOILERS FOLLOW!!!!

My score - 7.5/10. Maybe not the best drama of the list. But, it is one of the funniest. It's bright and easy and full of smiles and laughs.
