Once Upon a Time (1x14) and Being Human (4x5) Thoughts

Mar 04, 2012 22:18

Another Sunday, another posts about my two favorite shows. I watched Once with my sister this week, and she had the best thing to say about it: "I don't know if it's me, the fairy dust, the egg, or you - but, this is love." lol. Anyway. . .

From Dreamy to Grumpy in under 40 )

once upon a time, drama that is awesome, being human, drama thoughts and speculation

I actually just came here to go 'OMG my fave vid maker is using my icon', but then I read this too.

And I'm in agreement a lot about the treatment of MM versus David. I'm unsure where the murder investigation is going too, seeing as the spoilers point to MM being prime suspect but no evidence for this yet? Something big will have to happen for her to be suspected I suppose.

And also agree that the Storybrooke bit was much more interesting than the Enchanted Forest bits, and I was very involved and enjoy Leroy/Astrid. It's fun that she's a nun. Nice way to break up a rel, Regina.

'OMG my fave vid maker is using my icon',

OMG, you made me blush. . .

I agree that the murder investigation is going to happen soon. Spoilers have suggested that MM becomes the prime suspect. Which annoys me a bit. It seems like David is getting off with very little changing in his life. He may have guilt about Kathryn, but no one is treating him differently and his professional life has not suffered. Meanwhile, MM is suffering way more than she should. It's almost cartoonish.

I enjoyed Leroy/Astrid. The Enchanted Forest stuff felt like it was happening way too fast. Grumpy may have had memories of Nova for a year, but their interaction literally took place over less than 48 hours. For some reason the Astrid/Leroy stuff seemed more real to me.

Leroy has a really beautiful look when he first sees her on the ladder, seemed much more sincere attempt at 'love at first sight' than the EF version of their story.

David must suffer, the little wimp!

I agree that Leroy seeing Astrid seemed like love at first sight. Grumpy/Dreamy seeing Nova seemed different. More like 'Oh hi, you're pretty.' then love.

David needs to suffer. I've been keeping up with the spoilers, and it seems like MM will be getting all the blame for the affair and Kathryn's disappearance.

read that he'll have some new clients in the near future. One of whom is Mr. Gold

Wait: really?! Like REALLY?!

I need this scene in my life. Poor Archie having to diagnose the scariest (and most fucked up and in need of therapy, tbh) man in town!

It says something about me that my favourite scene in this whole episode was Gold's face when Leroy tried to sell him the boat. And the randomness of his 'I just hate nuns' thing. I know it's probably Rumpel hating faeries instead of anything about real nuns, but still. The rest of the episode was cute - and Amy Acker is always made of epic win - but Gold always steals the show for me.

And I think Belle was on her way back to her father's Kingdom, stopping over, and needed to help someone else to deal with her own heartbreak. Her speech made me feel so bad for her!

I think he hates the fairies, because they have a history, including the Blue Fairy helping Cinderella trap him. He hates the fairies as nuns, because nuns are clerics, and as far as he knows clerics tortured Belle and drove her to her death.

@ raissad: I agree completely. Those reasons make perfect sense.

OMG I totally didn't think of that clerics/Belle thing.

I looked up the actress that plays the Blue Fairy and she was never on Buffy. She has has guest roles on a lot of shows, maybe that is why she looks familiar?

Rum seemed to start drinking after the breakup too at least according to people's theories on the timeline.

I've seen that timeline a fan made. It fits. He became a big old crazy/creepy drunk. So sad.

Gold taking therapy (Sheriff ordered?) will be very entertaining, though not so much for poor Archie

It will be entertaining to watch, that's for sure. I'm guessing it's court ordered since he beat the crap out of Moe French. I'm sure they'll discuss (in a round about way) his son and Belle and all that angst.

It would be nice to see some heat from the town land on David but as in real life it's only the other woman's fault. *growl* The graffiti on her car, again, was overdone.Yes. David should take some of the heat. Especially as it is his wife that has mysteriously gone missing. I know he didn't do it, but still - the husband is always the first suspect. And, most of the ( ... )

Aw thank you for looking that up. It's probably other things I reconginze her for then.

It occured to me when you said Rum became an old crazy/creepy drunk that I don't recall seeing Gold drink? Getting his fix another way? Conspiring against Regina perhaps? Not that I mind ;)

I meant that I don't believe David is lying the phone call. I don't think he made it, I think Regina, or one of her lackies did.

I don't feel one iota bad for MM or David. I wish I did as I like Snow/Charming but...

Oh, and did you notice them saying the "gym teacher" was the one who found Kathryn's car?

It's no problem, I was actually curious who the actress is. She does seem familiar, but I don't think I've seen her in anything before this.

Maybe. But, looking back - have we seen him drink anything? Maybe he's putting it in his tea. Or, like you said, playing this game and trying to beat Regina is what keeps him going now.

Whoever called from David's phone spoke to Kathryn for eight minutes. It would have come up 'David' on Kathryn's caller ID. Kathryn looked fine when she was in her car. So. . .maybe Regina stole Kathryn's cellphone and made the call?

I don't feel one iota bad for MM or David. I wish I did as I like Snow/Charming but...Same here. I really like Snow/Charming. But, I nearly dislike MM and David - both as a couple and as characters. MM was fine - until David woke up. David is written as a wishy-washy jerkass and MM just keeps getting more 'poor me. pity me' as the episodes go on. I want to like them, but I ( ... )

I think Belle just needed a drink. Sometimes, it's the only thing that will hit the spot. ;) (Really, I barely drink, even though that sounded kinda bad haha). I think she was just nursing her sorrows, probably in a way she had read about in her books. Seems the type of girl to think like that ( ... )

I think that, too. She just needed to drown her sorrows. And give some love advise.

I agree with you completely about the Storybrooke stuff (and character stuff) being better than Enchanted Forest/Fairy Tale land stuff this week.

Pretty sure Regina painted "tramp" on Mary Margaret's car. At least, I think that's why she had a can of spray paint in her office.

I forgot that. I don't really pay attention to Mary Margaret lately.

I think the Queen just finds her on the road and decides she's going to keep Belle so she can always have a bargaining chip against Rumpelstiltskin.

I wouldn't put it past her.

The dwarfs being hatched from eggs was a little strange. lol

I don't see why seeing Belle in a tavern automatically makes her a drunk. She didn't even appear drunk to me. I loved the scene with her and Dreamy!

MM's treatment is so hypocritical, since David doesn't seem to be getting it, as well.

I wouldn't put it past Regina to have fixed the phone records somehow, if that's possible.

Mr. Gold as Archie's patient? Now that should be interesting!

I'm surprised Emma doesn't at least have a deputy.

Do you think someone spray painted MM's truck a second time? I assumed that was the same as when we saw it in the last ep. Maybe she just hasn't had it removed, yet. I agree that they need to drop the harlot storyline!

What did you see in the preview for next week?

See, I think Belle had just stopped for the night. Like, she had just left the castle after being kicked out. I think she was just having a nice drink. I loved the scene with Dreamy - so sweet and full of hope.

Yes! The town is going way too far with this "Town Harlot" crap. And, we better find out that David is being treated the same way.

Yes, Gold will be a patient of Archie's soon. Mostly because Archie is the only one Gold can speak too. (My guess is he starts seeing Archie in "The Return")

Emma needs a deputy. Even Andy had one in Mayberry! And it better not be Ruby, because she's supposed to be 18 and is a waitress with no training.

I was trying to think of the town Mayberry, but exactly!

I'd really like to see more people at the police station. Anyone. Jack from Jack of the Beanstalk, even!
