[ACTION - A (In and Around Goldberg Street, Morning, OPEN TO ALL)]

[Well, it could definitely be a lot worse.]

[At first, upon seeing the giant ants, crabs, and praying mantises popping up everwhere, Balin tries to defend Goldberg Street the best he can; he's not the type to take chances, especially with how unpredictably dangerous Mayfield's " ( Read more... )

[Did someone say 'rain of swords and spears'? Because I think someone did. Any ant swarm that is popping up is currently being impaled with great justice.]

Having fun?

[This is the first time Balin's ever seen Gate of Babylon in action. Or the fruits of it, at least. In fact, the first thing he does his dive to the ground, thinking that it's somehow a Ranger's Fire Support Logos Ability going off. We all know it's so much more deadlier than that!]

Holy FUCK!

[After the dust settles, Balin uneasily stands up, slack-jawed at seeing all these ornate weapons sticking out of the ground. It takes him a few moments before he realizes Gilgamesh is there and asked him a question.]

I uh-

[Treasure this moment, Gilgamesh. Balin is at a total loss for words.]

[Gilagmesh replies with a smile and a happy wave!]

You what?

[Regaining composure now. Managing a small, if dumbfounded, grin.]

Thanks for'a close air support-?

[The finest close air support!]

That was nothing. It's a shame to waste such good treasure on these creatures but they were kind of annoying.

Yeah. I'm gettin' sick of 'em screwin' with'a foundation. At least they're good target practice.

[Glancing at the swords and spears again, if they're still there.]

Are'ese really wasted, though? They don't look damaged ...

When they touch unworthy things...do I really want to use them again?

[They're still there and he's making a face at them.]

[Looking a bit dumbfounded, although it reminds him to start reloading his shotgun, just in case a giant enemy crab or something comes out of nowhere.]

That's what a weapon's for, ain't it?

kinpika October 29 2011, 07:36:30 UTC
...not legendary weapons.

[Looking at the weapons again. It's pretty clear that he can't recognize any of them; they all just look pretty and shiny.]

Oh. Okay, that explains'a bling.

[Which begs the question:]

... Where'd all'ose come from, anyway? If I didn't know any better I'd say you just pulled some Ranger shit, right'ere.

I don't know what a Ranger is so...!

[Oh, right! Balin gives another slight grin.]

Where an' when I'm from, at least, it's one of'a Military Occupational Specialties of'a AFS. You know like how I'm a Demolitionist? 'Cept Ranger's a Tier III MOS, an' Demo's a Tier IV.

They got this Logos Ability, Fire Support. Teleports in cluster an' napalm bombs right from'a AFS armories. Or just opens a hole for an ion cannon beam to toast Crusty with.

[Gesturing to one of the nearby blades.]

These swords an' spears comin' outta nowhere? That's'a first thing I thought was happenin'.

Oh, that's what you mean. They come from my treasury. Where else would I keep treasure?

Reply

walking_nuke October 29 2011, 07:56:15 UTC
So it works'a same way? You just drop 'em in from'a treasury?

[There'll be a bit of fridge logic hitting Balin in a few moments when he realizes the implications of that ...]

kinpika October 29 2011, 07:57:09 UTC
Not drop. I shoot them. That's why I'm an Archer, after all.

Oh!

[Ding! He makes that connection finally, at least.]

So it ain't limited to usin' bows or somethin' ...

[And that's when the fridge logic hits him.]

-Wait, Mayfield lets you access your treasury?
