I disagree and in some points you made i do agree. First im going to take what you said on the first line of paragraph two. Which of course im going to agree with. Music that has very few chords does not mean that its necessarily easy or that those who play it lack talent. There are musicians who see those chords and play them as is and then there are musicians who see them the different inversions alternate melody line etc and use them as a basis for true expression and improvision. Theory can hinder as much as it helps I know several theoried musicians who sound boxed n when it comes to improvistion.
And thats all I have to say about that

worship is our natural response to who God is..
we worship in spirit and in truth as the Holy Spirit directs..
worship isn't about us lifting ourselves but lifting and exalting God.
we were created to worship..
HIM..
it doesn't matter if the song has three chords or written in the hardest key imaginable..
it doesn't matter if the song is sung well or completely butchered...
it doesn't matter if the guitar slips out of tune or the singer loses their voice..
none of that matters..
all that matters is that we are seeking God and giving Him all the praise and honor due to Him..
no matter how simple or complex..
contemporary or hymn...
we should all sing with the understanding that worship isn't about us..
we should sing all songs as exaltions to Him..
there is a time and place for everything..
we should embrace and understand that...
