After months of research in several university libraries, book stores, and on line outlets, we've come up empty. Too many of the books on African folklore are out of print or so expensive there' just no way we can possibly afford to do the in depth studies on the topics we are accustomed to offering ( Read more... )

It'll be interesting. I have enough resources, I'm just curious how it will play out. I don't know much about the Middle Eastern mythology so I'm eager to learn.

We're hoping to have video and powerpoint notes available online after the fact. In any case, I could certainly give you the reference list and outlines for the panels.

While getting my BA in religious studies and anthropology I specialized in ancient Mesopotamian religious texts. I also worked for an educational publisher that specialized in Ancient Near Eastern texts. Last fall I got to spend a whole afternoon at the Oriental Institute in Chicago wallowing in ancient Assyrian art.

Therefore I heartily approve and wish I could be there to enjoy!

As always, we'll be making copies of notes, filming the presentation, and making a PowerPoint presentation for them.

I'm excited about this, it's one of my favorite cultures.
