i don't know

Jul 14, 2008 20:02

today i was fired from my job, which leaves me with a little over one hundred dollars to my name.
thankfully i live in chicago, where if you want to work you can. if you want to travel beyond the city limits and clean floors for example.
i would like to work east of pulaski for a change and not spend 3 hours a day on the cta.
midnight juggernauts came from amazon today. i am never spending another dime at reckless. goodbye wicker park. the only thing you have going for you is the czech section at myopic books. other than that you are a breeder hell hole. i hate being lied to, although sas wasn't wrong. it is hopping at night compared to logan square.
i love my new apartment on milwaukee. i waste no time getting anywhere, and despite being four blocks from "the" logan square, it is devoid of yuppies.
jasia told me about a movie rental place at belmont, which had only movies in polish besides "cocoon: the sequel" which we bought for $1 and an oldie from 1937 with carol lombard (because she's from indiana). i wanted to rent "the tigress from siberia" which looked like inspiration for the band aleks and the drummer, but the man behind the counter said it was dubbed in polish. i will be going back there, they had plenty of polish art films from the 80s, the kind that are supposedly allegories of the system and are described on the back in english as "surrealistic or not surrealistic?"
i also set up an appointment with sierra's mentor, his name is red bear and he said "namaste" on his voicemail, so i am skeptical, but i will schlep it out to brookfield this week and see what happens. he wanted to know what i wanted from him. i told him "i have no direction in my life and i'm interested in integrity and possibly values".

yesterday i charged my phone so i could talk to richard. note: there is no reception on wrightwood ave.  he got really excited and his voice changed about 10 times in the course of our conversation, from his gritty gay to deep daniel.  he said he was surprised that i said neelam from toronto was interesting, because "you're weird, so all of your friends are interesting".

floating between ocad and austria, between norwood and the square, on the bike and on the train.
i'd like a gay job, a job that requires intellect, that is not computer dependent and is in the city. very demanding.
meredith and i came home saturday night to find two carp from jasia swimming in the bathtub. one of them is mine to eat. roommate adam said he will put them in the freezer to die. i don't feel bad, they are very ugly.

i'm going to paris for claire's wedding at the end of august, i am broke but it will be worth it. i have been sober for a while and things are looking up. dziadz left us all saving bonds, it was the world war II mentality.
