Spike loves traumatising children.

So yesterday was the office party, where I drank a little, was dragged onto the dance floor by overly persuasive women, and failed to embarrass myself. Which was nice.

Today, therefore, was spent mostly watching DVDs and avoiding excessive movement. In particular...

Predators
This was pretty much everything you could ask for from a movie about Predators hunting professional killers in the jungle. Lots of lines stolen from the original, lots of violence, but it took them far too long to kill off the really annoying rapist (seriously, where did Hollywood get the idea that audiences like annoying comic sidekicks?), Danny Trejo went out like a punk, and the Doctor was so obviously a serial killer I was really hoping they'd have him use his serial killer skills effectively to help the group. Adrien Brody did a decent job of being Arnie, although his screaming wasn't up to standard.

And then...

Where The Wild Things Are
This actually failed to grab me, mostly because I just didn't engage with the plot. The kid was bloody good, but the most interesting thing was the soundtrack, which made me wonder, and then wonder even harder when I remembered that Karen O used to go out with Spike Jonze.

So then I did some digging, and apparently Mr Jonze directed quite a few of my favourite music videos. Including this one.
