Six. Dragon Truths.

{Voice transmission. Viserys sounds completely calm, with a sort of cooing sound to his voice, like he's telling a bedtime story to a kitten.}

I never wanted to be king. I was never meant to be king. I was the second son, I was meant for other things. Prince of Dragonstone until Rhaegar's son came of age. A position on Rhaegar's small council. I ( Read more... )

Who is Elric?

[Shake that pale silvery hair like you just don't care!]

Elric of Melnibone. Royalty like us. He called himself a silverskin but he was the only one I've seen here that looked like a Death Knight but wasn't. Except you.

I've never heard of Melnibone. It's so nice to hear from someone else who is royal. I get tired of all these fucking peasants acting like kings are beneath them.

What is a Death Knight? Are Death Knights a company of sellswords? They sound fearsome and really quite amazing. I've never heard of a silverskin either. I've heard of worgs and skinchangers. I have silver hair but I know of no one with silverskin.

I've learned that the reality of this place is that no matter who you were before you came here, you don't have anything any more. You need to earn it. I resented that for a long time, but I quickly earned a reputation that was acceptable just by my actions here, so it doesn't bother me as much any more.

What else, hm. Death Knights are evil. They are the footsoldiers of a being that wanted to wipe out all life, which, really, was a stupid and unattainable goal.

Elric was very pale, though, and silver-haired. I don't know what a silverskin is beyond that. We don't have them in Azeroth either.

I didn't have anything when I came here. It had already been taken from me. The one who promised to help me win it back in exchange for my sister lied. I'm used to having nothing. I detest being mocked. What can I do about it? There are sorcerers and I have no power.

What was the point of wiping out all life? What did they want?

Is Azeroth beyond the Shadow Lands?

I was a soldier as well as crown prince, at home. I'll always be more the latter, I think. I earned my reputation here by killing wardens. Eighteen of them. It's a kind of respect, when people fear you. Act in a way that will inspire people to treat you the way you want them to.

We wanted to... consume. It was all the Scourge was made for. We were meant to be unleashed on a world to just destroy everything we could reach and pave the way for the Legion.

It's probably on another world entirely. There are multiple worlds where I'm from; one will sometimes invade the other and we'll have warfare and fire for a few decades until things quiet down again.

No one will ever fear me here. The Admiral's japes make certain of that. First I was some ridiculous craven, then I was a woman buying love potions to land a rich husband. I have no sword, no magical powers, nothing. How did you kill eighteen wardens? Do you have a weapon?

[He really, really, really wants a weapon, beyond the cutlery he ganked from the dining hall.]

You were like the Doom then. The Doom destroyed Valyria. Only there was no 'Legion' to follow. No one goes to Valyria now. They say demons haunt the fragments that remain. The skies are still red beyond the Smoking Sea.

[Another world. Still not quite grasping the multiple worlds concept, but he's getting closer.] How does one move between multiple worlds in your Azeroth? Sorcery?

I've been a housewife. And a child, at least three times.

I had a screw. I took it from a chair. Once I had a sword. Those kills were amazing. Like a drug. It hasn't really been the same since then. But it was only two days - the rest of the time here I've improvised weapons.

...That sounds like the Legion's work, though. Whatever name it's going by.

As for the worlds, yes. Warlocks created a portal.

I've never killed anyone before. I've made threats, I've been violent, I've hurt people, namely my sister, but I've never killed anyone. There are people I want to kill, but they're very far away from me, and I've never had the means of getting to them. I wanted to kill the Usurper in single combat, but he died by boar, the bloated wine sack.

I stole cutlery from the dining hall.

Killing someone is harder than you'd think. People draw on strength you'd never guess they had when they think they're going to die.

Especially with the cutlery from the dining hall. It's made of something...bendy. [Azeroth: submarines and nuclear power, no plastic.]

My father liked to burn people alive. It doesn't matter how strong you are when you're on fire.

Yes, it is rather--flexible. I should have known they wouldn't have left proper knives lying about.

I know. Fire is how I commit suicide. It's the only thing that will always kill a Death Knight short of decapitation, which is a lot harder. I...

I'm going to leave now.
