Part of this might be because he's always been a bit nervous around dogs. Another part might be because his wing-girl is a Froslass, and probably not terribly well suited for a scuffle with a big fire-type.]

[Arcanine stops and sees L standing there when it starts looking around. Now, was that friendly behavior from this huge dog just for its trainer? At least Arcanine looks calm and relaxed. The kid is too concentrated on his gear to notice you yet, L.]

But that Arcanine seems pretty calm, which automatically helps to make the man a little more confident about approaching. He's still pretty wary about getting close to Kintarou, but he gets closerer, at any rate, and the rustling of the tall grass should be enough to get Kintarou's attention. Hopefully, at least; L is terrible at spontaneous greetings.]

Tigger the Arcanine takes two steps closer to L. He looks a little curious now. The sudden movement behind him surprises Kintarou. First he looks up.]
Aaaaaaaaaaaa, where are you goi...?
[...then he hears the sound of grass and turns to look that way. OH HI, new person! Well, Kintarou thinks that you're new anyway. He offers a grin of a smile.]
Hi! It's amazing, isn't it?! [He means the Arcanine, yes.]

It definitely appears formidable...
[L recognizes Kintarou, and if Kintarou is even half good at these things, he should recognize L's smooth, distinctive monotone from their conversation over the networks.]
