Oh? Congrats in advance! ...I hope we won't miss our Growlithes too much. [Not going to happen on his part. The puppy was adorable, yes, but Arcanine is... Amazing.]

[Shiraishi's been hesitating over if he should comment or not, since he just left like that.

Finally he decides to anyway, since he wants to... and really hopes that Kin-chan isn't super angry at him.]

Congratulations Kin-chan. Your wish came true.

[You get a huge smile, Shira. Nope, he's not angry at all, not anymore. He can't hug you, so he'll hug the Arcanine instead!]

I wouldn't have had a Fire Stone without you, Shira!♥

[Shiraishi's relieved. A happy Kin-chan is the best Kin-chan there is.]

I'm glad I was able to help.

The next time I see you, I'll make you run laps for leaving too soon! Maybe I'll let you jump on Tigger after those laps.

Ah...your Growlithe...

[Did he just...see it turn into a larger Pokemon. He looks a bit bewildered, as his own Growlithe suddenly hops onto his lap and barks into the camera happily.]

...is Arcanine now! Isn't that amazing?!

[Yes, that's just what you saw. And this little redhead makes a hyperactive and happy wave to the Growlithe.]

It's called evolving.

Evolving. ...Right, when the Pokemon become bigger through training. But your Growlithe evolved quite suddenly.

video; we just like to live up the entry title on the comments too. ... not really D| waiwaiku July 10 2011, 00:35:07 UTC
Yup! ...They always evolve fast and suddenly! Sometimes they do it in the middle of battles too. First there's a huge ball of light and ta~daaa then there's the evolved pokemon. Well, Growlithe requires a fire stone to evolve but still, it's very sudden after it touches the stone.

[L recognizes Kintarou and remembers that they'd been mutually interested in a tennis match... but the sight of that huuuuge Arcanine kind of causes him to back off a bit. He hovers nearby, looking like he wants to talk to the young man but is a little nervous about getting too close to the big doglike pokemon.

Part of this might be because he's always been a bit nervous around dogs. Another part might be because his wing-girl is a Froslass, and probably not terribly well suited for a scuffle with a big fire-type.]

[Kintarou is leaning his back on the Arcanine while he's busy with his gear. The huge dog licks its trainer's face.]

Pfff, stop that. I'm trying to get those riding instructions and show you to the whole Johto.

[Arcanine stops and sees L standing there when it starts looking around. Now, was that friendly behavior from this huge dog just for its trainer? At least Arcanine looks calm and relaxed. The kid is too concentrated on his gear to notice you yet, L.]

[L understands the feeling. Sometimes he gets so involved with his pokegear that it's difficult to notice much of anything else, including nearby hovering individuals.

But that Arcanine seems pretty calm, which automatically helps to make the man a little more confident about approaching. He's still pretty wary about getting close to Kintarou, but he gets closerer, at any rate, and the rustling of the tall grass should be enough to get Kintarou's attention. Hopefully, at least; L is terrible at spontaneous greetings.]

[Kintarou is brilliant at this "Paying my attention to other stuff" thing, really, and he's excited to see how it feels to ride a real Arcanine so...

Tigger the Arcanine takes two steps closer to L. He looks a little curious now. The sudden movement behind him surprises Kintarou. First he looks up.]

Aaaaaaaaaaaa, where are you goi...?

[...then he hears the sound of grass and turns to look that way. OH HI, new person! Well, Kintarou thinks that you're new anyway. He offers a grin of a smile.]

Hi! It's amazing, isn't it?! [He means the Arcanine, yes.]
