February 3rd- 1-2 Turnabout Sisters

So, playing this at two in the morning when you're tired and can't sleep really does wonders for you...

The first thing that I should talk about is Detective Gumshoe. He's so serious in this first game. I wonder how they manage to create a character so adorable, so lovable and completely forget to show his background? Look at Edgey, Godot, Maya, Nick- they've all got backgrounds, all different types of character. But Detective Gumshoe, through everything, is just there, pal. No one knows why. All he's looking for is a bowl of instant noodles and some money to get by. Speaking of which, I wonder how he stays on the force. It kinda freaks me out.

Ever notice how over one night, he changes his tag line from 'see' to 'pal?' I'm serious. "The name's Dick Gumshoe, see?" Or something along those lines. AND THEN THE NEXT MORNING, HE STARTS BEING THE DETECTIVE GUMSHOE WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE. It freaks me out.
Super-awesome-quote-of-the-day: "No influencing the witness with your lawyerly ways, pal." This always made me laugh. How could Detective Gumshoe be so stupid? "Yeah, the witness, April May. She's not to leave her apartment until the trial tomorrow." Wow. The conclusion I can draw from this is that Gumshoe is made of pure amazingness.

Redd White looks like that guy from that Earth Cartoon that I can't think of right now. You know, with the rings and the kids and that green dude. I wonder if the Capcom staff has an obsession with the word y'know. They use it everywhere, if you haven't noticed, like, y'know? Okay, enough of that.

What else? Oh right! Mia's premature death. Many people are like, "OMGWTFWHYYYYYYY"  Most of them, like me, are DiegoxMia fans (or WrightxMia fans, but I don't support that pairing). But you know what? I actually think it's a good thing that she died early. I mean, playing the case again after knowing her and seeing her first two trials and, well, loving her character. it hurt to see her die again. But I actually appreciate Mia's death because...oh, come on, I could remember it at two in the morning...
I appreciate Mia's death because it had to happen. There had to be an ultra-supreme-character-death in there somewhere, and it had to be early. It was a wake-up call, I guess you could say. Sort of like the Capcom staff screaming, "HEY GUYS DID YOU KNOW ANYTHING CAN  HAPPEN HERE?!?!?!?!"

Playing this trial again, after knowing everything that happens in the Phoenix Wright arc really opened my eyes. It was so strange to see older Mia and to hear about her. Everything just unfolds perfectly. It's great.

And don't you think Maya's a bit more spontaneous in the first game than in all the others?

April May just sucks. I hate her. Always have, always will. Not because she has pink hair. Not because she's annoying. Because I hate people who deceive to get their way. I guess, in a way, I'm just like Desiree DeLite.

Haha, no mistakes this time. And one of my favorite pictures of the case (because it sucks having to read stuff without pictures!):

Yeah, Phoenix's face is freaky. It kinda scares me.  This isn't that good of a picture compared to the other ones in the games, but hey, this was a depressing trial. You need a feel-good picture like this at the end.

I leave you with one final observation: I am under the impression that the Bellboy is perverted as heck.
