It´s crazy here!
So yesterday was a bit sad... my mom had been here with me since Sunday and she went home yesterday, and I´m not going to see her until June! So she and I cried a lot yesterday. Yesterday she and I went up to Castillo (Castle) Santa Barbara, which is on the mountain I can see from my bedroom. It was actually pretty fun, we wandered all over the place up there, I stood near edges and made her squeamish, we wandered into places we weren´t allowed to be, and then we walked down. It was really neat, there is a wall that goes down to the city and we took that. I´ll put up photos later.
Anyways, today is my roomate Heiko´s 21 birthday, so we went out last night to celebrate and it was total insanity! We went out around 12.. and there were plenty of people out then. People are sort of strange here... they dance friggin´hilariously... but they also don´t stay in one bar for very long... Anyways, last night we decided to head home around 3:45am... and there was an INSANE amount of people in the streets! Honestly, I have never seen so many people out on the streets during the day... all the bars were packed, the streets were packed.. and people were only just starting to head to the bars. At 4 am! We were leaving the club area... and everyone was walking towards it! Insanity I tell you... INSANITY!
Also insanity... for dinner tonight we went out to a tapas bar, and at the next table was a family... they were all having wine with dinner... as well as their 4 or 5 year old son! Can you imagine?? ha ha ha.
Ooh.. and last night on the way to the bars... we passed our first Spanish drag queen! He looked fantastic and even said ´hi´to us!!
Tomorrow I´m going to a meeting with my faculty coordinator so hopefully I´ll know my class schedule tomorrow afternoon.
