If you've been in the library computer lab recently, you've noticed that they've replaced some of the Dells with newer, shinier Dells.
Usually all of the Dells are taken and I sigh and sit down at one of the eMacs, but when I wandered in tonight, I saw that several of the new Dells were open and took one.
Yay! I thought. I get to use one of the shiny new ones! So I settled in, opened up Microsoft Word and began typing on one of those high-tech keyboards.
But something was wrong. I typed some more. Yep, definitely wrong.
Here's the problem: The spacebar squeaked. I put on my headphones and tried to ignore it, but I couldn't. Every time I typed a space, a high-pitched noise scraped my sensitive eardrums.
The old computers never had squeaky keys. They had fun clacky keyboards that sounded somewhat akin to a typewriter, the sound of productivity. This new keyboard felt too soft, too; it gave too easily to the touch. High-tech? Ergonomic? I want the clacky keyboards back!
I tried to ignore it for a while, but then sighed and moved to an eMac. And now I'm perfectly content.
This has been a pretty productive night for me so far. I organized my to-do list (OMG it's huge), updated my calendar (OMG I graduate in May that's soon) and got one of my TechCom assignments done (OMG and it isn't even midnight yet).
Maybe you'll hear my rant about why I'm using the computer lab instead of my own computer in my apartment some other time when I feel like procrastinating and writing something pointless again.
I just looked at my TechCom folder and noticed the moo-in-a-box that
mooinabox put there last week. Good times.
