Back in East Lansing, for a moment anyway...
Going between East Lansing and Hillsdale feels rather strange now... both ways feels like I'm going home, in a way. You know that feeling, when you're driving home from a ways away, and you start to really recognize things that you see, thinking of them as the landmarks of "home"? I get that feeling, going both ways. On the way to Hillsdale it's usually when I turn onto Milnes Road, growing stronger as I pass Glei's. On the way to East Lansing it's usually as soon as I pass the exit for I-94, and then when I see the Jolly Road exit. It just feels strange... to have that feeling no matter which way I'm going.
I finally heard from Colin around 2:30 am Saturday morning. I'm glad that I got back online instead of just making myself fall asleep, because he was able to get on AIM. It was 10:30 am for him. Hard to imagine... Hopefully he'll be able to download Skype sometime in the near future so that we can do voice/video chat. He's called a couple of times, but I'm a little afraid of how much that could end up costing us. If we're able to use Skype, it would be free!
Lets see... other updates...
*I purchased my plane ticket to Alabama for spring break! Mom suggested using Priceline.com, and I was able to get it for a total of $212, just a tad more expensive than I would have gotten it through Amex before their prices went up. And that's okay... I can save my points for something else, or actually pay that card down so that I can use it and earn more points.
*I dropped my Tuesday class... trying to deal with Colin being gone and a full class load was kind of getting to me. It wasn't a class that I really needed, and I'll still be able to graduate "on time" without taking three classes this semester. So I'm going to take it a little easy and try to retain some shred of sanity.
Now I'm going to sit back, wait for my cookies to come from Insomnia Cookie, and watch some TV... perhaps even do some homework if the mood strikes! I should also get some stuff done for my assistantship...
At any rate, cookies and TV are definitely in the near future. The very near future.
