I've made a resolution to lose weight pretty much every year. One year, I actually pulled it off. Starting at the beginning of November 2005, I started Weight Watchers for the first time. By the end of June 2006 I was at my lowest weight ever: 158.5 lbs. But then I lost track of what I was doing... by August 2007 I was back up over 200 lbs, and haven't managed to drop more than a few pounds at any given time since.
But this is a new year, and I made a deal with my friend Kelly that we would be weight loss buddies this year. We pinky swore on it! :P
For my height, my ideal weight is 120-138 lbs. Apparently Kelly and Kat were extremely surprised at this fact, but that range means that I'm approximately 66 lbs overweight. Yup... So my ultimate goal is to lose 66 lbs by January 1, 2009. But since that's a pretty big loss, I'm going to concentrate on smaller mini-goals along the way. My first mini-goal is going to be to lose 10 lbs by spring break (March 1).
Stats
Height: 5'5
Current weight: 206 lbs
BMI: 34
Goal weigh: 140 lbs
I don't have a tape measure right now, so I don't have a way to take my measurements. But I'll try to get one soon so that I can start tracking that stuff again too.
I've been weighing in on Wednesdays, so I think I'll stick with that (unless there's another day that we want to decide on, so that we're weighing in on the same day... what do you think, Kelly?). Other than that, I'll try to post regularly about my progress, although I'm probably not necessarily going to keep a running tab of what I eat each day. I'll be using Weight Watchers again, so I'll at least try to post my points tally each day.
I'm also going to start working out again. I'm going to try to get myself to some of the classes at the university gyms, and we also have a small (but pretty nice) weight room in the community center of our apartment complex. Its especially nice because it's less than a 5 minute walk from our apartment! My goal for this week is to work out for at least 30 minutes, three times.
And... that's it for now. Better get to bed.
