i'm back with scars to show, back with the streets i know
i just got back from the downtown library where i received an award for being a finalist in the dallas morning news' poetry competition. there were four other people from my school that received one, too. i read my poem and got up to the microphone and smiled like a big dork and said, "hello!" the poem wasn't my favorite, but i'm glad that i was chosen.
i've discovered my favorite soft drink. i was usually ambivalent towards them, drinking coke, rootbeer, dr pepper, etc. but i never preferred one over another. however, i've found that i really enjoy diet coke. i'm not sure how it has no calories, no carbs--basically nothing but sodium in it. seems kind of sketchy. wow, apparently i just managed to write a paragraph about diet coke.
