Last post's answer was 301. Congrats to Maxee (who showed his work), MBS83, and Leeani12.
The number is one greater than a multiple of 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, and is a multiple of seven.
Since the number is one greater than a multiple of 2, it must be odd. Since it is one greater than a multiple of 5, the number must end in either 0 or 1 (zero is excluded, however, as the number must be odd)
Because of these two deductions, we know the number must be a multiple of seven and end in one.
7x3 = 21, however 21 is a multiple of 3
7x13 = 91, but this fails because, divided into groups of four, you'd get 22 bags, with a remainder of 3
7x23 = 161, which fails because if you use groups of three, you end up with 159 marbles in 53 bags, and 2 left over
7x33 = 231, which fails because 230 is not a multiple of six
7x43 = 301.
300 divided by 2 equals 150, divided by 3 = 100, divided by four = 75, divided by 5 = 60, and divided by 6 = 50.
New Trivia question.
I have, in my pocket, exactly two coins, both of which are currently minted US currency. The sum of the denominations of these coins is thirty cents. One of them is not a nickel.
What are the two coins in my pocket?
