hist. 21 Research Journal entry #3
since our topic selection is due on friday, i suppose now would be a good time to start considering what i most want to write 12 pages about. as of right now, i'm deciding between something along the lines of how American Indians differed from or viewed whites, and the role religion plays in society. the only problem is making it specific enough and relating it to what we are studying in history 21. i must admit that this entry will appear somewhat insufficient because i'm pretty much just window-shopping through all the possible paths i could take for my topic. so first, i looked on wikipedia for information about the emergence of the western frontier in America and related events such as the Trail of Tears, Custer's battle, etc. Then i looked around at the Awakenings in America- which started back before America was even a country- and how they influenced change in the shape of religion. i'm just gonna keep it broad here for now.
