I've never been one that has been big on America hating or Bush Bashing... but this has made my mind up for me.
Fuck the biggest democratic nation on earth's goverment (the goverment, not the people). They can't even take care of thier own people.

I watched a fair bit of mainstream converage on it this morning. There were people taken to the superdome, alive ... that are now laying dead under sheets because of dehydration and hunger.
Bush is letting his people Die. In all honesty, they've gone 3 days without ANY goverment aid, what so ever. Plucked from thier destroyed homes, promised 'rescue and safety' at the superdome, and left to die until the goverment can get thier arses into gear.

Bush was talking about the looters (sp?) and how they must be stopped. I smell a distinct FUCK UP OF PRIORITIES. How about feeding the people, than dealing with the food being stolen.

This morning, I think I was watching 7 days and one of the govemrent officals stated "Progress is being made in the fact that time is passing and as time passes, things will calm down"
If it wasn't peoples lives, I'd laugh at the stupidty of that statement. They are SO quick to say
"hey , look, Iraq is fucked! lets storm in there and rectify things!I'm President Bush and I wear the pants!"
but its like
" hey look, a natural distaster has ruined one of our most highly populated cities, thousands are homeless, dying and children are freezing and sleeping on cement.. meh, we'll deal with it later"

It irks me beyond belif (as if you can't already tell)
If stupidty was worth as much as gold, the whitehouse would be some kind of Utopia.

I'm well aware that me, or anyone else ranting about how much of a wanker Bush is won't help the situation, but it is so bleedin' obvious that is hard not to re act with anger towards a goverment that pumps itself up and deflates so easily.

I hope the people you know are safe and well.. and lets hope that the operation behind getting this sorted out swings into action some time soon for the sake of all those people.
