Checking in
I saw the Batman "Hush" action figures my flist has been raving over at Anime Pavillion today. I can understand the appeal, even if I haven't read the arc yet. They're quite pretty. I liked the Catwoman one. I also saw a Batman & Batgirl smaller set I quite liked, along with a seperate Catwoman model.
Rock with the Hawks: Article on the next arc in the "Hawkman" series. It doesn't sound like life is going slow down anytime soon for Carter and Kendra. Also sounds like they'll be tied in with the bigger DC picture with "Countdown". Didn't Zero Hour do enough damage to the Hawks?
miss_porcupine wrote up a lengthy commentary on the Levitz era Legion, the main period I am familiar with. There are occasional points I'll disagree with. Being introduced to Jean after Imra, I'm less likely to compare the two directly, especially as far as their powers go. Imra was primarily a telepath, whereas early on Jean was shown as telekinetic first and then acquired the telepathic talents. Imra had very strict protocol on what you did or didn't do with your talents. Jean, well, was trained by Professor Xavier. Nuff said there. I don't think any of the early LSH authors were willing to go into the dangers for Imra, though I think some of the post-boot stuff eventually did? I vaguely recall seeing a Imra centered issue of the last series where she wasn't all sweetness and light.
