Gacked from jordannamorgan:

The thefridayfive is all about cartoons, so I couldn't possibly resist this topic. I could expound at length at all the cartoons I've watched over the years -- the good and bad side effect of growing up during the 80s.

1.What was your favorite cartoon as a child?

My earliest memories are Saturday mornings watching Super Friends. But I continued watching stuff like Voltron and Transformers and JEM and GI Joe and Robotech. What can I say? I liked robots, fashion and music! (and superheroes) I was watching Batman: the Animated Series even when I was older.

2. Do you read comic books? Why or why not?

Yes! Oh god yes. I actually blame my comics reading habits on cartoons. Super Friends made me a lifelong DC fan. If Marvel had a Wonder Woman character, it might have been a different story. I read them because they're a wonderful medium - a blend of story and art. Comics can be literally any genre. If you can picture a story visually, it can be rendered as a comic.

3. Have you read a book and thought it should be turned into a movie? If so, which book?

So many of my favorites have already been turned into movies, so it's hard to say. The main series I can think of is Libba Bray's A Great & Terrible Beauty and its successive books. They'd be one part costume drama and one part fantasy. They'd be such a challenge to pull off in that sense.

4. Do you watch cartoons now if you are a teenager/adult?

I never really stopped watching cartoons honestly. They're just a comfort tv, the thing you curl up and watch on a rainy day or when you're home sick. I graduated to the Justice League series and all the DC animated movies.

5. What is your favorite quote from a television show?

Too many to count. My favorite exchange from a cartoon might be from Justice League "Starcrossed" - Superman says to Batman after nearly risking his life "Always have to play the hero" And Batman gives this half smile. "Right back at you."
