One of those nights

So I'm up late because I'm feeling rotten and trying to sleep is horribly uncomfortable. Which means I wind up working on the Fleischerverse fic. I double checked the "origin story" they gave in the first cartoon and no Smallville or Kents. Clark was found by "a passing motorist" and brought up in a orphanage. No indication that he was adopted by anyone. In the radio version he was full grown when he landed on Earth. The Kents first appeared in Superman #1, but their names weren't Jonathan and Martha. And I thought Superman's origin hadn't changed all that much over the years, compared to Wonder Woman. Batman's origin is mostly the same; the only that really changes is Joe Chill and whether he's brought to justice or not.

I still don't know if I'm going to finish this story on time. It's in various pieces right now. Again blame not wanting to write a depressing Christmas story. The other thing about this Superman -- he doesn't mope. There's none of the usual "last son of Krypton" business really, which is rather refreshing. But the bonus side of being a WENN fan, I can reuse research for Golden Age Superman. (And Captain America if it comes to it.)

I have two fandom_stocking stories nearly ready to go. The one may wind up an unfinished AU unfortunately. I might try my hand at icons for one person. We'll see how I'm feeling. Of all the times to be under the weather!
