Post-Christmas comics

So along with the usual tour of the local stores, we stopped by the comics store. I bought only two things -- Wield the Shield and X-men: Noir. The one prompted my mother to ask when I started reading Captain America. I blame a certain only thematically related fandom_stocking bunny for putting me in the mood to read X-men Noir, although I hadn't realized Marvel made the trade a smaller format from the original hardcover, closer to the size of the new Vertigo Crime books or even the Parker GN. So I'll have some reading material for tonight. This shop has a LOT of action figures and trades; I could have easily bought more, but I was trying to be good.

To my surprise, I've done quite a bit of writing. I'm determined I won't leave a bunch of IOUs this year. I'm reusing a few old prompts for some people. I really hope I can pull off the one story idea. And working on a Clark & Lois idea to cover both dcu_freeforall and the bradygirl_12's Christmas challenge. I also shelved one idea because I'm tired of writing depressing Christmas stories. Also shelved because the Fleischer cartoons don't reference Clark's childhood at all. Smallville & Kents weren't added until later. So I'm not sure how to deal with that yet.

fleischerverse, captain america, superman, x-men
