Dear Yuletide Writer:

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Why hello there! Mainly I want to say thank you for writing for me. I really do appreciate all the time and effort you've put into your story.

This is my first year doing Yuletide, so you'll forgive me if my letter is too detailed.

Things I love: Story wise, I love gen, het, and femslash. I am multifannish and multishipper. I love fluff and romance. I tend to like canon couples and couples who have a history together. To me, the staying together is as interesting in ships as getting together in the first place. I love missing scenes and stories that feel like they could have been part of the existing canon. Mysteries are great and don't be afraid of action and adventure. I'm a superhero fan for heaven's sake! I also love snark and quick witted characters. I love competence - I love seeing people who unapologetically love their jobs and are damn good it!

Things I don't like: I don't really care much for angst and death and gruesome horror for horror's sake. I'd rather you keep the boyslash out of the story, even as a background/side pairing.

About my requests:

1. Captain America:

Characters: Bucky Barnes/Natasha Romanova aka Black Widow/Sharon Carter/Steve Rogers
Prompt: Bucky/Natasha. Past, present, future. How do they all intertwine?

Ed Brubaker's Captain America is my current comics obsession. And while I liked Steve & Sharon a lot, I really fell over the moon for Bucky and Natasha. They have such a fun dynamic. I'm pretty much good with anything you can give me - an adventure of theirs, a peek at their private lives. I'm pretty current through Captain America: Reborn, canon wise, although I haven't been following his New Avengers appearances. No Steve/Bucky please.

2. Aria (manga & anime):
Characters: Any
Prompt: Slice of life on Neo Venezia -- how do residents go about their daily chores, how do they respond to disruptions in their routine, etc. Bonus points for allusions to old Venice on Earth.

I love exploring the city of Venezia and discovering hidden surprises lurking around every corner, just like visiting a real city. That's what I want - a visit to Neo Venezia through the eyes of a resident or tourist or whatever. I've only watched the first season of the anime, but feel free to use the other seasons or the manga.

3. Valentine (tv):
Characters: Ari Valentine aka Ares/Danny Valentine aka Eros/Grace Valentine aka Aphrodite/Ray Howard aka Hephaestus
Prompt: Grace/Ray. She clearly loves him. So why can't they make it work?

I admit it, this is my guilty pleasure show. I was actually more interested in the subplots featuring the Greek gods and their machinations than the mortals they were matchmaking for. My favorite characters were Ray, Grace, and Ari. Grace clearly loved Ray, but had this unexplainable connection to her husband Ari. I'd love to see that explored, why one relationship could never work, even while the other had just as many issues. I really liked Ray. He was neutral and yet he wasn't. He was cynical about love and fate and destiny and yet he stayed by Grace. (Feel free to use or ignore the ending of the final episode, btw.)

4. Agents of Atlas (comic):

Characters: Namora and Venus
Prompt: How do they move past their previous differences?

Oh my quirky rejuvenated Golden Age Marvel team book. It's really hard to pick a favorite character in this series. I did love the relationship between Namora and Venus. It didn't get off on the right foot (calling your teammate a "sea monster" is a bit of a turn off) and yet they seemed to have a healthy respect for each other. The story can be modern or 1950s based, I'm really not fussy.
