X-men and DC birthdays

Mutant Cinema: The X-men Trilogy from Comics to Screen: While I don't quite agree with the apologists' view on X3 ("Oh, it's not the directors or writers or XYZ fault it was bad..."), I do think the X-men movies provide a good view of how superhero movies can be done and appeal to both longtime comics fans and bring in new people. My mother saw the first X-men movie without knowing the universe all that well. She followed it perfectly fine. Marvel probably used a lot of that success (and problems therein) to come up with all the successes that followed.

I also stumbled across an oddity online the other night and was reminded of it on Twitter today. The DC Universe Calendar pulls together comics characters' birthdays and important events, mostly pulled from the old Neal Adams' DC Calendars of the 1970s. Alas my birthday falls between the first appearance of Dick Grayson as Robin and the lab accident that loses Luthor's hair and starts the feud with Superboy. *sighs* Very pretty artwork though.
