This looks like a job for Wednesday!

Since I was up in Bethesda for dental issues, I decided to try to hunt down another branch of the Big Planet Comics. It was Wednesday after all. After some misadventures, I found the store. They have a guy waiting at a half door waiting for his regular subscribers and he'd point in the right direction for other books. Which is good, because otherwise I might have picked up the first issue Battlefields: Night Witches and missed the second issue on the new rack. I did feel strangely like some vaguely shady dealings where you sidle up and ask if you're interested in a gold watch. As it was, I have new Wonder Woman, back issues of Manhunter, the Spirit Femme Fatales collection, two Night Witches issues and the Janes in Love. (*shrugs* I liked P.L.A.I.N Janes, okay? Wrong age group and all.) I shouldn't have been so fiscally unwise, but the next time I see a comics store may be over Christmas, if not New Year, so I can afford it once. I left "The Circle" and the Starman Omnibus. Christmas is coming.

Two posts on the Fleischer Superman cartoons: Lines and Colors gives a nice overview of the cartoons, while Up in the sky shows some lovely (really great quality) screenshots from four of the cartoons. Check out the pan included from "Million Dollar Limited" included at the top.

Making Iron Man: Jeff Bridges' behind the scenes photos. All black and white.
