So I finished watching "Da Vinci: Quality of Life". Oh, Dominic, how we've missed you. And Chick and Kosmo and even Sam & Rita. I do wish there'd been a bit more detective work and less political maneuvering. After the ratcheted up tension of "City Hall", it was kinda funny watching Dominic and Chief Jacobs being so civil to each other. Even a line somewhere about how things went down between the opposing forces might have been nice. To be honest, the main storyline didn't grab me as strongly as it could have. Then again, I'm used to Da Vinci in episodic form, where storylines develop over time. I wanted to feel more of the outrage rather than the whole stink of the cover-up.
In that time honored Da Vinci tradition, my fandoms were colliding in weird ways again. First there was Alison Hossack as the newspaper editor. SGA fans know her as Perna from "Poisoning the Well", but I knew as Olivia for years on the soap "Another World". It doesn't seem like she should be old enough to be involved with Dominic. And then there was the actress playing the neighbor Mrs. Whiting. I knew that voice, if not the face. But where? I checked her credits and lo it was poor Susan Perkins from the early episodes of "Eureka"!
