Wonder Woman & Supergirl good news... maybe?

Huh. I don't know if this is reliable, but Comic Book Resources is reporting Warner Brothers has bought a spec script for the new "Wonder Woman" movie, now that Joss is sadly out of the picture. Batman-on-Film appear to have seen a copy of said script. I was under the impression Warner Brothers/DC Comics didn't want to go the period piece route. From other reports, it sounds like they're using this script as more of an audition. They were impressed enough by their writing abilities, so knowing our luck, they'll send them back to create a more modern and hip version. A pity really, because the script, as is, hooked me. Well, it hooked me at period piece, who am I kidding? As I've jokingly said with regards to "Torchwood", the easiest way to my fannish heart is through the WWII flashback/time travel piece. And Steve doesn't sound completely useless either.

I'm probably the last one to report this piece of news, but Tony Bedard recently gave an interview on the Pulse about his upcoming three issues of Supergirl with concept art by Brazilian Renato Guedes. Both sound like they're tired of the portrayal of the current Supergirl as a teenage sexpot. Or as I called her to confettiofstars the other night, Paris Hilton with superpowers. Maybe a little bit more responsible and doesn't own a pocket dog, right? I have my doubts about some of the poses, but they're figures, rather than actual pages. If the Action 850 cover is any indication, this'll be a mini event to watch and see the reactions. Right now, she looks better flying than posing for me, so we'll see. But I'm optimistic for a change. Then again, I liked the concept artwork for Amazons Attack, didn't I?
