A full weekend indeed

Friday I went to dinner with confettiofstars. She continues to try to woo me over to the dark side of World of Warcraft, but I'm resisting. We adjourned to my place to write a little. We picked characters we both knew and then I suggested crossing them over. I wound up with a short Firefly snippet featuring Jayne and Inara. I never really thought about their interaction, especially compared to how we see him treating say Kaylee or River. Maybe I'll get around to finishing that snippet later. I did like that piece, even it's a tightrope between getting the voice right and being too dialecty.

Sunday I went to see X3 with a group of LJ friends with a hilarious dinner afterwards discussing comics of all persuasions. It was good to finally put names and faces to marag and husband and mscongeniality and greenygal. I didn't catch everyone else's names/usernames alas, but it was good to meet them anyway. I've always felt rather isolated as a fan in the DC area. So maybe that's going to change for the better. I'll have a reaction post to X3 later. There were bits I liked and there were grand tracts of land that I had problems with...

I mentioned seeing this at dinner and I thought I'd post the link before I forgot.

It was again explained that Nightwing was originally intended to die in Infinite Crisis, and that you can see the arc that was supposed to end with his death in the series. After long discussions, the death edict was reversed, but the decision was made that, if they're keeping him, he would have to be changed. The next arc of the ongoing series will further explain the changes, it was said.

And no, I haven't forgotten my LW responsibilities. I just have to figure out where I stashed the draft of the letter.

local, x-men, firefly, comic books
