(no subject)
Despite my initial thoughts to speed read it once so I won't be spoiled, I'm reading HPB fairly slowly. I'm not a particularly fast reader to begin with, so why change what works? So far I've been blessed by a very nice friends list. If I see anything potentially troublesome, I just push the down arrow.
I've been following the San Diego Comic Con reports. Mark Waid is exclusive to DC, there's a new Brave & Bold series coming, and a Spirit regular series by Darwyn Cooke. Part of me might have liked to see Tom Fontana, creator of Oz and Homicide, write a Gotham Central storyline, rather than the Batman one-shot. Comics Continuum had a report on the upcoming season of JLU. I hope the preview clip shows up online or maybe after the finale. Lots to squee over including The most intriguing news was the appearance of Carter Hall to gum up the works even further with Hawkgirl/Green Lantern/Vixen. I'll be curious who they cast as his voice. But we also get both of my Legions (30th century and Doom) and possibly the Seven Soldiers.
Annoying/sad bit: We'll probably never get a proper "Birds of Prey" episode on JLU since there's an embargo on the Batman supporting characters and villains. I wonder if that's part of the reason Bats is part timing it. Or just his lack of team spirit.
Lots more Golden Age chatter on Wes and Dian coming. I'm rereading the Sandman Archives for a possible story for grindstone. I may wind up using that era, rather than the SMT one, even if no one will want to read it.
