Festival of sand sculptures in Kaunas
Competition is the main driver of progress :)))
Akropolis shopping and leisure center in Kaunas time to time organizes shows with the aim to attract more visitor. This time they organized festival of sand sculptures. And today I had the occasion to visit open air exhibition.
And here are my impressions.
Area is guarded since exposition is volatile :)))

Together with foreign architectural landmarks you can find the local one also :)))
And now the bigger ones.
Sphinx:
Famous in the past Lithuanian basketball player A. Sabonis: playing but his face is moder (I mean at the age of 45 :))) (sculptor Donatas Mockus):
Shrek of course (British author Christopher Sqiuer):
Jurrasic park (author Finnish sculptor Jukka Lakela):
This is Michael Jackson (Latvian sculptor Sandis Kondrats):

Latvian Karlis Ile prepared also sculptor of Lithuanian erotic model Oksana Pikul:
Sculpture "Radio center" showing discussion between Dalia Grybauskaite, Barack Obama, Vladimir Putin and radio host Vytenis Sinkevicius (author also Karlis Ile):
Sculpture "Heroes of animation" . despite that you can recognize many personalities from old soviet period animations the author is Briton Christopher Squier:
In God we thrust. The author is Japanese with very European name Eva Mcgrew:
Exposition will be open till the middle of August. But I don't have any idea how they will be able to protect sculptures from rain and wind ?
