I had the occasion to be in Poznan whole last week. It was my second big visit to this Polish city. For the first time I was here two years ago. Of course two years isn't big time to change for the city essentially and I of course don't want to show the same parts of Poznan again. So this time I visited deeper parts of Poznan: I visited St.Lazar district, I was near newly built Poznan stadium - first finished Polish stadium for the Euro2012, I lived not in the center but in the typical socialism period district Naramowice, etc. So my second view to Poznan was significantly deeper and better. And also I had the occasion to talk with Poznan people a lot. So today is my introductory report - some details, view to the local trams, etc.:
I don't want to show again the same parts of Poznan. If someone is interested the old town and the very center of Poznan could be found in my reports:

/vyrud.livejournal.com/44703.html#cutid1 First photo is were I lived - the district Naramowice. In some sense very native view:
In last two years the central part of Poznan don't changed significantly but some changes occurred of course. E.g. in April 2009 the headquarters of Poznan woewodstwo looked like this:
Last week it looked like this:
The second view is always better. I was surprised how many artifacts could be found in Poznan: during my first visit I simply don't observed them:
This house I showed in my reports two years ago. But then I don't knew that this is very interesting building - shopping center Okrąglak. This is the first building in Poland which was built using typical industrial components and is very interesting representative of the architecture of the period. The years of construction were 1949-1954 (yes !!, arch. Marek Leykam). Now building is under reconstruction:
The sign of local patriotism - the Poznan is very attractive place for business and investments. The local info says that according the investments Poznan is only slightly behind much bigger Warsaw and in front of all other Polish cities :
I guess that this attractiveness is largely caused by the proximity of Poznan to Germany in particular and to the Western Europe in general. I have the impression that this is expressed even in the mentality of Poznan people. E.g. the next year we need to organize big event here in Lithuania and many colleagues from Poznan will arrive. The big point is that most of them will travel for the first time so deep to the east (many of them weren't even in the eastern Poland except Warsaw as well) while they go to Lepizig, Dresden, Berlin, Vienna, Hannover, Salzburg, Munich each year and often several times in a year. May be I am not right but I have the impression that Poznan people and in the general people from western Poland look with some upheaval to the people from eastern Poland. This could be called the attractive power of the west :) (better, more organized, more advanced, more interesting, etc.)
Poznan area is the homeland of Solaris Co - producer of bus, trams, trolleys, etc. Solaris is probably one of the biggest successes of the Polish machinery industry in last two decades: company which began production only in 1996 as the Neoplan Polska and is independent producer only since 2001 now is one of the biggest European players in this market niche (managers of Neoplan now probably eats their nails :)
This can't be unnoticed in the Poznan public transport system: nearly all the buses are Solaris in the town. And even Solaris Tramino trams began to arrive to serve the Poznan public transport system. Since I am representing trams-free country my look was paid mainly to the trams :)
Two different generations met:)
On the way :
Licensed production of Solaris:
And finally first original development of Solaris tram - Solaris Tramino which production started only in 2009:
That's all for today. In the future we will go to the stadium, will have a walk around Naramowice and will visit Lazar district and the adjacent area.
