This year it's Apophysis.
Apophysis is another freeware art program. Unlike ContextFree, it's not language-based. Instead, it involves manipulating numbers and moving around triangles.
Here's what the interface looks like:
It's a bit complicated at first (the fact that I haven't read the instructions probably contributed to that), but it's actually fairly easy once you get the hang of it.
And the results are really cool. Here's some of the stuff I've been making:

Some observations:
- While the results are much more stunning than my ContextFree stuff, even when I'm still learning this, it's much more difficult to control. I feel like recognizable images like this or this would be far more difficult with Apophysis, if not impossible.
- The colors are difficult to calibrate. The program has many preexisting color gradients, but I haven't figured out how to fine-tune what colors are where.
It's still pretty fun.
I'm a little bit torn about using my computer science tag on this post. It involves a computer, technically, and there's a lot of math, but it's still not programming. Hmm...
