Or so the song says. Apparently although Meat Loaf has gone vegetarian he refuses to change his name to Veg Loaf, but I am ever so thankful for this, because the post about it inspired someone to comment
with this Royal Philharmonic Orchestra version of Anything For Love and omfg, if it sounds this good on my laptop speakers I can't imagine what it must be like on a decent sound system. I'm almost tempted to get up and look for my decent earphones.
I'm also wondering what's making some of the stuff sound almost synth. Is that extra strings vibrato?
Oh I so love the horns.
It's been forever since I've heard the original. Had the whole album memorized in high school - there was that couple weeks at camp where the sound track was basically that whole album or Spin You Right Round Like A Record oh, like 20 times a day.
Edit: apparently a bunch of orchestras have done Bat Out of Hell.
this one's Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. I can't tell whether it's poorer sound quality or I just don't like that song as well.
Edit, unrelated:
I don't understand why Jax Sheets are for men. But the video was amusing (it played before Lorena McKennit), and sheets that stay fresh longer sounds intriguing.
Edit:
ah, this is explained on the actual kickstarter page. okay, because they're engineered to deal with sweat and apparently men sweat a lot more, and they say being soft and smooth is especially important for the generally hairier and more naked group. And oh holy hell, they link to a study of
men 18-25 reporting that they only wash sheets 4x a year (and somehow I doubt that's because they have a bunch of sets; having a bunch of sets of sheets is awesome) And zomg the
bacteria comparison with toilet seats... Okay I guess I understand the bamboo & silver now...
eep?
