So, um, even further complicating the timing of going down to FL is that the FAA's inspection folks have been on furlough and usually inspections are supposed to be weekly. Also we know that a bunch of TSA have been calling in sick; unknown about ATC.
Here's a letter from the Airline Pilots Association asking DJT to end the shutdown for the sake of air travel safety.
