PSA (synergy) - Drivers Incorporated

So elsejournal I was reminded of the situation people often find themselves in, when outpatient surgery or whatever comes with the And No You're Not Allowed To Metro Home. Ah, sedation.

Last night I went dancing at a bar (and could have done with some painkillers after having had the bright idea to keep on the boots with 4" heels*) and afterward, talking with a few folk, it turned out that they were running a driver service called Drivers Incorporated. They mostly explained it as a designated driver service - they get the patron and hir car back home, instead of leaving the need to fetch a car in the morning. $20 + $3/mile is comparable to a cab both ways.

I thought it was neat enough to mention to others, and looked up the site, where it turns out that they also have an hourly rate, and they take reservations as well. And they note that they're a good choice for . . . getting home from outpatient surgery.

(Although it wouldn't help the person who was told sie needed a ride both ways, :( )

Edit: I suppose I need to have a stick shift car on hand if I want to take advantage of the stick shift lessons. Oh, also WashPost article last year

* Blues an 4" heels work surprisingly well together for me. Being that much taller, such that I was on level with many guys, was also an experience. I think that plus having my hair in a bun made it harder to recognize me.
