holy wow, and other thoughts

I am SO glad that I was able to drive home in no traffic a little under 3 hrs ago, back when it was all showing green. I'd usually be considering getting into a car right about nowish. The future is wonderful. I figure i'll continue doing work for a couple hours, and then maybe go swimming.
My colleague in Arlington was reporting Thundersnow back around 3:30 or so.
On Marketplace, they were just discussing the ramifications of potential state bankruptcies, particularly re municiple bonds. This isn't something the states actually want, given the whole bond thing, but it does give them bargaining power on trying to knock down their pension obligations.
Something else from today - Fresh Aire had an author interview - Stirring up The Feminine Mistique - 47 years later. There was some discussion in there of The Greatest Generation. It reminded me of thoughts from last night: it's too late to ask Grandma about the war.
Mom's a little too young. But she'll remember Mistique. Except she wasn't the target audience.
