Okay, so
1) yes, I'm going to Arisia.
2) I was stupid, and didn't have arisia friended, so I didn't know that they were pretty much sold out of the 650 rooms in Arisia's room block some time ago. And also
3) I didn't know that there was a waiting list until soong posted that he'd gotten off of it and into the Westin.
I'm traveling and staying with badmagic, who has booked us a room in the official overflow hotel. Kudos on getting a good rate and all, Arisia, but A MILE AND A HALF AWAY? (With No Shuttle, mind.)
So. exsmof tells me that there's a halfway decent rate at a hotel on the next block, but only Sat & Sun nights. I think the really good rate may have required a week's reservation ahead of time.
Maybe I should post and ask if anybody is trying to fill half of a double double. Sharing a room wasn't our first choice, but 1.5 miles really isn't either.
I also still have a plane ticket that gets me there Thursday late afternoon, but somehow I doubt many people are going to the Contra in Concord as opposed to getting ready; I'm wondering if I should check and see if SWA has anything cheap for Fri instead.
I am so totally not psyched for Arisia. I am so totally not ready for Arisia. And being sick the last couple weeks really hasn't helped.
