Recently I changed visiting teaching partners to someone who had moved into the ward.  We got to talking and mentioned baking.  She has a San Francisco Sour Dough starter that she brought back from a trip down there and gave me some.  I managed to keep it alive long enough to get a loaf of bread out ( Read more... )

This is going to be more of a how to that I can point others to than anything else.  The last time I spoke to a group of people about food storage I mentioned as an aside home made yogurt.  Some people probably got whiplash from the massive double take.  I ended up scribbling the recipe down from memory and went from there.

It with all the craziness that was going on at work and then just completely vegging over the holidays. The goal is to remake what ingredients I can from the regular ingredients to Thrive ingredients. The idea is to eventually learn how to use the thrive ingredients. The first substitution I am doing is the spinach. According to the recipe it calls for 5 oz of chopped spinach. I measured this last time and it worked out to between 1 1/2 and 2 cups. Sunday tried out the rotisserie on the BBQ for the first time.  I had received it as a birthday present last year but this was the first opportunity to try it out.

I mounted it after removing the warming rack for the buns and it mounts fairly easily.  After that it was slide in the stake and let it rip.
