This summer has been pretty relaxing, as far as summers go. Santa Cruz is a pretty sleepy town in the summer, and even though I have a job now, things are still laid back...damn I live good. haha
Today I went for my community service at the homeless garden project and picked delicious strawberries for a couple of hours. I discovered that the roots of grass are totally strange, they are a long stalk that extends horizantally away from the blade. It was especially hard to pull them out for this reason, because they would intertwine with the strawberry plants.
Anyway, after that I came home and worked on some of the spell it out riffs ive been tossing around. I also thought about possible song themes. Im excited about spell it out and there seems to be much potential, but Ive decided that if we dont start to mature a bit musically and lyrically Ill probably call it quits. I wouldnt want to play in a band just for the sake of playing in a band. HOpefully my songs and ideas will be well recieved.
Our garden is looking well, the corn is almost ready, and the squash is out of control (its slowly taking over our front porch). I really like being responsible for its wellbeing. The corn stalks look majestic blowing in the breeze.
time to make dinner i guess.
