12 Step 3
My performance review was held last month and my boss gave me a 1 (the highest rating on the 1 to 5 scale). He had offered a cash bonus or a step increase as a reward, and I took the step increase. The thing is, if I manage to get a promotion in less than a year, the cash bonus would have been better. If I somehow get stuck at a 12 for a while, then the step increase is better in the long run. A promotion from a "12 step 2" or a "12 step 3" would both put me at a "13 step 1".
I'm still hoping I get that 13, but I guess I am just planning against not getting the 13.
Anyway, I mention this because the paperwork finally went through, and the 12 step 3 finally showed up in my personnel actions. Time to celebrate :)
