The first half was rather crap, partially because it was scoreless until the 40th minute, but mainly because I ended up sitting behind a couple of fratboy assholes. (I wasn't in the Beer Garden with my regular companions, for complicated reasons I will not go into here.) But the second half was glory. Pure glory. The simple truth is that we beat Miami 3-1. But what that victory meant was:
We locked a spot in the playoffs.
We secured a six point lead in the standings over Charleston.
We are now 23 matches without a loss and counting. A league record.
Mandjou Kieta scored two goals, putting him at the top of the league standings for goals with 11.
Ryan Pore, the other goal of the match and the man in second place for most goals (9,) has recorded a goal every game over six games, a team record.
We play Charleston next, then Rochester. After that, it's two matches against Austin and two against Cleveland, the two bottom teams in the league. After that, when we're still at the top of the league, we play in the semi-finals, then take the championship.
We're gonna win the League!
