I don't think that it quite has hit me yet that my computer has died, but I guess that I'm just in the denial stage. Tonight my computer decided, without warning, that it was just going to die. Well there was warning... warning meaning the blue screen of death which just told me soon as I turned off my computer, it was never going to work again. Thanks... That really gave me enough time to print out all the week's worth notes that I was typing for Perception and Social Psychology.
Danny came over to res and he tried to recover my stuff, but my hardrive, for some reason, wouldn't let him connect to it so that he could transfer the files to another hardrive. So, that only leaves me with the last resort option, which is to go to a data recovery place to see if I can get my files back. There's probably going to be no problem in that, except for the fact that my brother and Danny said that it was going to probably cost me between $500 - $1000 That's just fucking great. I'd be fine normally with just starting new with a fresh hardrive, but my whole life is on my hardrive, and so are 5 whole chapters of notes that I typed up for 2 tests that are next week. I need those notes to study, the textbook is too hard to absorb on my own.
I just don't understand how a computer can be so unreliable. I mean... I paid good money for my laptop. It's supposed to work. I don't understand why it decides to crap out. My brother said that 90% of the time your computer will give you warning signs that your computer is going to die before it actually does. I guess probability was working against my computer this time around.
I know that I'm supposed to back up my files all the time, but I guess that I'm not in the mentality that at any moment my computer could die and delete everything I poured into this computer.
This is just fucking fabulous. Just fucking fabulous.
(By the way, I'm typing on Danny's laptop that he let me borrow. Thank god this computer works, but with my luck its' hardrive will probably will die too... BAD FUCKING WEEK.)
