Other than that, my random rough translating impulse has been startled into life. No idea if other and better translating peoples have got to work on these yet but since I'm working hard at my Japanese these days, I decided to do some for myself. Gomen if you've all read before...feel free to comment if anything makes no sense.
First observation:
Cute blades and bones.
This is out of context but I think Shunsui says to stark that "Just because I have a cute blade, it can still break bones." before sweeping his weapon down.
I'm assuming he's talking about Katen although because it's taken out of context he might mean Stark's weapon. This is because...
Second observation:
Stark seems to have taken bones to fight with, which totally piqued my interest bearing in mind both the chapter title and the name of Shunsui's zanpakutou. It leads me to believe that even if the fight continues beyond this chapter, it was Shun's fight to begin with and it will be Shun who eventually defeats Stark. But we'll come to that in a minute.
Third observation: Translation of the emo ramble of Stark's loneliness. It's a rough translation I did for folk on another forum, so it may not be word perfect. However he flits between 'I' and 'we' so that is Kubo/Stark, not my error.
All our allies, every one of them, just by being near us disappeared, their souls eroded.
Because we were lonely, I split our soul into two parts.
Which was the original and which the copy, didn't matter. It was the only technique we had to escape from our loneliness.
I was envious of weak people. If we were weak, we could have been swarmed around by many others.
I wanted to become weak. If that was impossible, at the very least...
I wanted to have an ally who was the same strength as I was....
Fourth observation: Kuro.
Well. Squee. It's a very cool final shot. I'm not sure though if it's enough to be the finishing blow, simply because of the bolded text in the middle of that last frame. It says 'kimatta?!" which means, literally, "Decided?!". The ? gives me a moment of doubt - can there be something else to come into this or have we really seen the last of Stark?
At least his loneliness theme does make sense now its all clearly explained - but...I guess we;ll see.
Nobody can call Shun's last blow a stab in the back, though. Mwahaha! And, random fangirl observation but...Shunsui really has hairy feet o.o unless those are his socks, in which case he has hairy socks...
I still want to see Stark and Shunsui play strip poker bankai, however. Oh, how I wish I could draw >
