Have I mentioned lately how much I fucking HATE health insurance down here?! Just in case it hasn't been recently stated, I FUCKING HATE HEALTH INSURANCE DOWN HERE!
There. I feel much better now. It's amazing how a few judicious uses of the f-word can leech the stress from my body.
Three words. Mail. Order. Prescriptions.
Cheaper? Yes. Useful? No.
Here is my dilemma. I am on a medication that is prescribed monthly, depending on results from my doctor visits. At any moment I could be taken off it, depending on the whim of said doctor. However, Cigna has deemed it a 'maintenance' drug. Therefore, I am forced to order it through their mail order, or they will refuse to cover it. So now I am sitting on $50 worth of medication (you can't order it in less than a 3 month supply) because I ordered it as my old one was running out. And now I've been taken off it. Before even taking -one-.
Grrrr. Argh.
Here is the other thing that bites. I am about to run out of a second medication under the exact same circumstance. Do I take the chance that I will be taken off it this month and NOT order the refills, and possibly kill myself with a blood clot to the brain, or do I order it and end up sitting on -another- $50 of drugs after the doctor gives me a clean bill of health (Thursday of this week)?
Double Grrrr. Double Argh.
