Which is impressive given how crazy I am.
But, hey, while shuffling back and forth in an automobile betwixt two set locations today I came to discover that I like a piece by Mendelssohn. I generally don't care one way or the other on account of his music being ubiquitous. I mean, great, it's fantastic dude did such and such things to get folk to jump back on the Bach bandwagon and it sucks, the antisemitism and everything. But when I hear the Violin Concerto or the Fourth Symphony it's only boredom and exasperation that some other forgotten man - or God Forbid LADY - could be having his/her musical notations realized and broadcast to a wider audience. That's always a good thing. But then again maybe I just relate to the Langgaards of the worlds as opposed to the Nielsens.
But yeah: I really like his second piano quartet which, judging by the opus number, he probably wrote with one leg still in the womb. Fucking child prodigy assholes.
