They visit Aang and Toph a great deal that winter. Aang comes to greet them and accept their gifts, splattering with ink. Toph has taken to carving a stair case in the mountain when she is not posing for the illustrations in Aang's books because how else is Aang going to get back up here in his next life? Fly?
When spring comes around, Toph ceases working on her stairs and starts to build plots for farming. The look on Aang's face as he watches her bend the ground into soft soil is heartbreaking, but she can't make the crops grow and there is plenty of work for him.
