random: Vampires in California? duh.

So I just heard about this on tv, haaaaaad to share. 
Apparently Lawndale California is having some complaints about the flowers they put down a median strip in downtown.  The plant gives off the odor of garlic, which I can completely sympathize with.  But there's apparently so much of it that in order to remove it, it would cost a rather large sum of money, so there's a bit of debate going on in it.  And then, on top of that, they have one of their city council men on video record telling a news reporter this:

Per the Contra Costa Times:

But Councilman Jim Ramsey quipped that city leaders should consider the positive impacts of the malodorous plants before rushing to remove them.

"Since we put them out there, there hasn't been a vampire seen in Lawndale," he said. "So why should we take it out and let the vampires move back?"
