It's pretty cool; when we first started talking last June, he told me he had plans to release an electronic album at some point, but he was still getting his equipment together and hadn't really started writing songs. Not even a year later, and he's performing at house shows basically every weekend, being invited to play shows in other cities, and now he's put out an album. He had to learn all the software and how to use a Commodore 64, Game Boy Camera, a couple of synthesizers, Mario Paint, all this stuff, to create the sounds he wants. All that, and he doesn't even read music. Rather impressive, I'd say.
